No preview when adjusting image to black and white

I use the Image/Adjustment function to change a picture or object (selection) to black and white and then I use the color picker/Tint option to choose a color to change it to. Normally I get to see a live preview and this way I can adjust the sliders to get the color I want. Since the new update I don't see the color change until I press Ok. And then I have to go back and adjust blindly again and again. I am using Adobe Photoshop Version: 24.0.1 20221111.r.112 a12a934 x64 on a HP laptop with Windows 10.
