Not sure why my PS fonts have a rigid look?

Im not sure if its something i may have done or changed in my PS settings but i noticed that all of my fonts have this sort of rigid look to them. I thought perhaps well maybe it was just in my PS and that once i saved an example to JPEG  my words would no longer have t his rigid look to them but its still the same. I have attached an example of several different fonts to show exactly what i mean by "rigid " is just the only word that came to mind and again am not sure if i mightnot change something inthe settings or reinstall PS. Any suggestions. Thank you

@Charlie5CCF

It could be the anti-alias or lack of it or it could be something else. Can you select the text with the type tool and show a screen shot that includes the Character panel (Window menu). Repeat for each different typeface. Anti-alias is in the lower right corner.

Four of us have suggested anti-alias now. Does that work for you? If not, it could be something else.

The letters in the example don't look particularly 'rigid' to me.

With the Type tool selected, you could check the settings in the Options bar.

Barbara said exactly what I was going to say. So check to see if that helps per her instructions.

Hello, @Charlie5CCF are you looking at the file at 100% maginification ?

Another setting that might influence is in Edit>Color SEttings: Blend Text Colors Using Gamma: the default setting is 1.45

Also can you post a screenshot of your layers panel? is it the case on Black text on white background?

It could be more than anti-alias- the fonts appear correct but I normally have my AA set to "Smooth".

It could be that you want them set to something different?

You only need to change this setting once - not for each font.
