Objects size transform automatically

Whenever I click an object's transform controls it automaticcaly distorts or resizes the object which is very annoying. How do I turn this off?

Do you need to uncheck "Show Transform Controls" in the Move tool options bar?

I am used to the transform controls to be on, it's just whenever I click one point, it automatically distors the object when I drag my cursor.

Hope this helps. It behaves like im holding and dragging my mouse. Sometimes it does that and sometimes not. My main goal really is just to see the size properties so that I can precisely adjust the object.
