Onion Skins not working - Photoshop 2022

I've been trying to get into animation recently, and as I'm already used to drawing in photoshop, I thought it would be relatively easy to use proper animation functions. So I've looked at a few tutorials and tried onion skins.

They won't work at all.

It's not even just the fact that onion skins won't work when I've switched it on, it's that there isn't even the option to turn them on in the first place. Here's a screenshot. The option to toggle on is in grey text, not black, meaning that the option isn't even available to work:

I've got a screenshot of other settings just in case.

Onion skinning is for frame animation not video timeline. Switch to frame animation.
