Open as Layers in Photoshop from Lightroom, not working

Issue: 

• Photoshop version: 24.7
• OS: MacOS

Steps to reproduce:

1. Choose 2 fotos in Lightroom, right click
2. Edit In
3. Open as Layers in Photoshop

Expected result: Opening the selected fotos in Photoshop as layers
Actual result: Opening Photoshop in homepage

When downgrading Photoshop to 24.6 it worked again

Same issue with my Mac. Version 25.0.0

Tried going to earlier versions on both and it seems to not work that way either. Uninstalled both and tried to install the previous versions, again and now they are not showing for photoshop.

VERY frustrating.......

I am also having this issue with LR 13.0.1 and PS 25.1.0

Reseting preferences, clean installs, nothing has resolved the issue.

As it happens, I used this function on several sets of images only an hour ago. Everything worked normally. PS 25.1, LrC 13.0.1.

Does the standard "Edit in Photoshop" work?

The standard procedure when the link between LrC and PS breaks, is to reinstall both, Photoshop first, Lightroom second. The sequence is important.

No. All the edit in photoshop functionalities are broken. It will launch photoshop but only launch the home page. 

I will try and re-install this in that order.

That ordering of reinstalls has indeed seemed to work!

Excellent! The trick seems to be that LrC needs to "find" the correct Photoshop version installed.
