Open as smart object in PS (from LR) — Updated to PS 2024. Now every time i get profile mismatch

About a week ago I was opening images from LR as smart objects in PS 2023 with no problems. Started using PS 2024, now everytime i get the profile color mismatch warning box about how the embedded profile does not match the RGB working profile.

 

This got me thinking, why am I getting these messages all of a sudden? PS 2024 seems to have the same preferences selected, Ive never had to tell PS to convert my smart objects into Adobe RGB before — this is making me 2nd guess myself whether I was doing something wrong either now or before.

 

Can anyone please help? cheers

Just disable that "warning" in color settings. It tells you nothing useful.

 

The embedded document profile does not need to match the working space. End of. That's the whole point of profiles and color management.

 

The message is a remnant from old days before color management was widely implemented.

 

To keep track of what the embedded profile is, use this:
