Hi All,
Apologies for the flashing/strobing you're experiencing when opening files, this tends to affect older graphics cards (GPU) that don't support all of the aspects of DirectX 12.
For Windows:
For macOS:
We would like to find out if there are any of you on Windows for whom:
A. Use Older GPU Mode is Checked, and
B. Deactivate Native canvas is Unchecked, and
C. are still experiencing this strobing issue with a GPU that supports DirectX 12?
If so, could you please provide Photoshop's Help > System Info dialog text in this thread?

Hey. when I import the image from the raw converter to photoshop, the screen flashes in black and white. The problem started after the latest software update. Hi. Jouni

I just had that and Axel Matt suggested:
Goto "Preferences">"Technology Previews" and then enable "Deactivate Native Canvas".
Then restart Photoshop.
It worked for me.

exactly. (at first, we were instructing users to change two settings. now we know only one setting, deactivate native canvas, is sufficient to stop the flashing/strobe effect.)

after deactivating, did you restart ps?
if yes, and the problem persisted, update your graphic card drivers.

Auto Updated to v24.3, white flashing screen on two win11 PC's, both with GeForce GT 730 GPU & 4GBVRAM. Checked "Deactivate Native Canvas" on Technology Preview and that fixed both. Also downloaded & installed NVIDIA Beta Driver that was supposed to fix security issues. So now, not only does PS> Help> GPU Compatibility say I'm compatible, the red warning about outdated drivers is gone. Yep, I know it's an old graphics card but I stopped active business last fall (old guy). As long as they work, I'll keep the upgrade money in my pocket.
