Hi All,

Apologies for the flashing/strobing you're experiencing when opening files, this tends to affect older graphics cards (GPU) that don't support all of the aspects of DirectX 12.

For Windows:

  1. Update Photoshop to version 24.5 or later
  2. Enable the Older GPU Mode option in Preferences > Technology Previews > “Use Older GPU Mode (pre 2016)"
  3. Check if there's a GPU driver update available and update if so

For macOS:

  1. Update Photoshop to version 24.5 or later
  2. Update to a newer or latest ma

We would like to find out if there are any of you on Windows for whom:

A. Use Older GPU Mode is Checked, and

B. Deactivate Native canvas is Unchecked, and

C. are still experiencing this strobing issue with a GPU that supports DirectX 12?

If so, could you please provide Photoshop's Help > System Info dialog text in this thread?

make sure your GPU drivers are updated.

Next, go to Photoshop Preferences/Technology Preview and check “Disable Native Canvas”. Then check “Use Older GPU Mode (2016)”. Restart Photoshop.

Win OS: Edit > Preferences

macOS: Photoshop menu > Preferences

Preferences > Technology Previews > Enable "Deactivate Native Canvas" > Restart Photoshop

If you don't see it, show a screenshot of your Preference panel and tell up your PS version.

At this rate I am going to end up with an epileptic fit with all this flashing on my screen.

I have tired the below without any joy - does anyone have further advise or options I can try?

  1. The first thing to try would be, enable the Older GPU option in Preferences > Technology Previews > “Use Older GPU Mode (pre 2016)”
  2. If still having trouble, try enabling the "Deactivate Native Canvas" option also in Technology Previews

Bonjour à tous,

Plusieurs bugs :

Adobe Ps 2023 ( (24.3.0) :

I have the latest version of Photoshop 24.3.0. I have an NVIDIA GeForce GT 730 with the latest drivers installed. I have a desktop. I can't open or create a document without the screen flickering. I'm running a Wacom Cintiq with the latest drivers. This problem just started last month. I'm running Windows 10. The Photoshop processor says my card is compatible (4GB VRAM). Can someone please help me? Thank you.

Hi!

We are sorry you are having this issue.

Try selecting Preferences > Technology Previews > Enable "Deactivate Native Canvas" and then restart Photoshop.

Let us know if this fixes the issue, or if you are still having the problem?

Hello. I have exactly the same problem. When I import a visual (pdf, jpg) into Photoshop, the visual does not appear. Instead, the screen sends flashes of light at high speed (stroboscopic screen). I uninstalled Photoshop then reinstalled it, but it's the same thing. A few days ago, it worked perfectly. I tried to open several files, but it's the same thing. Your solution (Enable "Desactivate Native Canvas") does not solve the problem. Please suggest something else.
