Hey, I have been coming across this problem when filling a selection made by magic wand tool. When I make a selection of the specific area I want , the magic wand selects it as well as the whole layer and when I use the paint bucket tool , it ends up filling the entire layer. I am using photoshop 2019. Someone help me out, thanks.

Are you on layer that contains pixels you want to select? Do you have Sample All Layers from the Options bar turned on? Can you post screenshot with entire window and Layers panel visible?

It still isn't working. I'll try changing the brush preset to a non textured one and see if it's leaving gaps

Are there any gaps or breaks in the selection area you have clicked into? Sometimes depending on the threshold you have set it will see an opeing or non-closed area and the selection will continue outside of it... Just a possiblity.

Try creating a new layer and drawing a circle or rectangle with a black stroke at least 2 pixels thick and fill it with a color.  Then using the magic wand tool, click inside the image. Does it just select the inside of this image or again jump outside and select the entire layer/image?  This might help determine if it is the tool or the image that is having difficulty.

I used a texture brush. Could it be leaving gaps?

Are you tying to fill just the apple or the background? You have the background selected to fill? If it is just the apple..select inverse. This will also let you know if there are any gaps.
