Pasting a PNG from the Web turns transparency black

I wouldn't post this if I didn't find people chalking this issue up to Windows.

The free and open sourced image editing program Paint.net has no issues with keeping transparent pixels from the clipboard, Photoshop does not.

Is there some setting that I have missed? I don't want to have to save images from the Web before I can open them on PS.

Hi, to clarify, you right-click on a PNG online, then paste it to Photoshop? In which browser? do you paste in a new document? do you drag and drop?
