Pattern Preview in one direction only?

Hi everyone, I was wondering if it's possible to make Pattern Preview work on only one of the axis instead of both horizontal and vertical. I'm making a seamless background for a game right now and I only need to be looping in the horizontal axis only. Filter>Offset doesn't do the trick since it's cumbersome and hard to make things loop perfectly.

If I can understand you correctly then answer is no, you can not customize pattern preview to show tiling only horizontally.

That's unfortunate. Is it possible that there is another way to achieve this? Maybe through a plugin or something similar?
