Performance issues with Photoshop 22.4.2 and Lightroom Classic 10.3 on Windows 10

I have a new I9 PC with 32Gb ram and a Nvidia geforce gtx1080ti graphics card. I store all my photos externally on 8tb mycloud. The problem I have is that both PS and LR classic are so, so slow (both latest version). If you press a key, it's as though it has to think about what has been requested! For everything else the PC works really fast. Can anyone suggest what's wrong, it's driving me mad ...

Hi,

We're sorry about the experience due to the performance issues with Photoshop & Lightroom Classic. Would you mind telling us if you experience the same issues when working with images stored locally on your computer hard drive?

Please ensure you have all available Windows updates installed on the computer along with the latest drivers for your graphics card from Nvidia's website.

You can try optmizing the preferences of both Photoshop & Lightroom Classic using the steps suggested in the articles linked below:

Photoshop: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/optimize-photoshop-cc-performance.html

Lightroom Classic: https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/kb/optimize-performance-lightroom.html

You can also check: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/networks-removable-media-photoshop.html

Let us know how it goes!

Regards,

Nikunj
