Photomerge freezes

I am having problems with photoshop cc 2023 freezing when entering the automate then photomerge.  Even going to help menu and typing the word photomerge freezes the app.  Have to sign out and sing in to get around the problem

i am using Windows 11.  Yesterday program working with no issues when trying photomerge.

Let's make sure we're in a default state and there are no stale settings somewhere:

Does it work correctly? 

If that doesn't solve it, you can quit Photoshop and put the Settings folder back.
