Cannot print in Photoshop 19.0.1 (2018). Every time I try to print, using File->Print or CTRL+P, the program crashes.
I am using windows 10 Home and Brother printer.
The only workaround is installing a previous PS
Anyone else encountered this issue? !
01jonesc,
Have you updated to the 19.1.5 update yet? There was a fix for some of the memory issues that sometimes caused some printing crashes.
Error while accessing performance preferences - 'An integer between 96 and 8 is required.'
Let us know if it helps you out.

Pete

I encountered a similar issue some time ago. Try this :
Go into Windows - Settings - Devices - Printers and Scanners and ensure you have a default printer set (if you have, it may be worth changing it and then changing it back).
Now start Photoshop and try again.
If that does not help - try resetting Photoshop preferences

Thanks for the quick input. Sadly, I already tried that and it was unsuccessful.

I had the same issue and did as Dave said and additionally I had to reinstall the printer driver (Brother MFC 5890 CN).
God knows why ...

A sad development. I was able to print just fine on PS 2017. Now, after I allowed the Adobe tech team to see what the issue is and tinker with all sorts of drivers, every version of PS crashes when printing ( tried all the way down to CS 6)....

I remember I let Windows (Win 10 Pro) search for the driver and it installed a driver by Microsoft, not by Brother.

Exact problem. Just started today. Printed with no problem at all 2 days ago, today PS crashes EVERY time I try to print.
Tried resetting prefs, changing default printer, nothing has worked.
Photoshop 19.0.1 (2018)/Win10/Epson 8500 printer with Epson drivers.
I really do not want to go through uninstall/reinstall older version.
REALLY need this fixed asap!

Here's the deal. Everything worked until updating CC to 2018. Now it doesn't. Problem started after updating to latest CC versions.

Hi,
I'm encountering exactly the same issue with both Photoshop CC 2017 and 2018.
The issue occurs every time I attempt to print, before the print dialogue has even appeared.
I have tried resetting my preferences, uninstalling and reinstalling Adobe suite entirely, reinstalling the printer drivers and making sure it is up to date, updating windows through windows update to make sure I have the latest version and also deleting my profile from the computer entirely (this worked for about a month before the issue started again). I've had it happen with multiple files even those created in Photoshop 2018 on a different machine, I have also tried creating a new canvas and copying the content of the crashing file into it, closing the crashing file and printing again and the crash still occurs. There doesn't appear to be any information in the event log that gives any detail beyond "Adobe Photoshop has stopped responding".
I am on Windows 10 1709 fully patched and up to date.
We have several networked printers that are available to me when I log in:
HP Designjet T7100ps - This is the printer I'm trying to print to most often when it crashes but not always
Taskalfa 4551ci
HP LaserJet 2430
Epson 7800

Windows security updates are forced upon us by WSUS in our environment so updates have been applied prior to the issue and indeed after the issue has occurred, we don't have any control over this. 01jonesc,
Have you updated to the 19.1.5 update yet? There was a fix for some of the memory issues that sometimes caused some printing crashes.
Error while accessing performance preferences - 'An integer between 96 and 8 is required.'
Let us know if it helps you out.

And Im having the same problem... Since 2015, 2016, 2017 and now 2018.
I have to save my work, open on AI e print from there.
Isnt kind of shame so many users complaining about the same problems while you guys are asking what version is, blaming windows bla bla bla ???
WHY AI DOESNT CRASH AND PS DOES???

Ok so i noticed that everything that i was trying to print was before i installed my software for the printer, which would make photoshop cs 2018 crash. I deleted the software for the printer, reinstalled it but i left photoshop running in the background and now everything is working correctly. I also updated my windows, still everything is working. I dont know what made it work but those are the things i did. Maybe it will work for someone else.

I have photoshop 19.1.2. I opened the file .jpg cropped them and tried to print, but got an error when opening the print settings window.
I tried converting in another editor .jpg to .png and then opened .png in photoshop and the print settings window opened without ERRORS. I was very happy :). But I was doubly happy when everything .jpg in photoshop began to be printed without error.

I reset my Preferences (restart Photoshop and IMMEDIATELY press Control+Alt-Shift in Windows - it should ask you if you want to reset your settings. Say yes.) and now it prints. It's a pain, but I have reference that I must print.

I tried numerous times to do this, never got the question if I want to reset my preferences. I have the two latest versions, several printers, yet can't even choose a printer, Ps crashes prior to the print box coming up. 23.3.2, 21.2.11 versions. Even a simple flat jpg crashes on both. I need to print badly, and not many of my custom presets, brushes, crops are going to my cc library either, so afraid of deleting Ps.

Quit Photoshop if running.
Relaunch Photoshop and open the file that you want to print.
Press the Spacebar on your keyboard before you click File > Print. This process resets printer preferences that have been written into the image.

This did not work either. I have never printed any versions of this image, due to Ps crashing.

If I open a file from the same EHD that I know I have printed, hold the space bar down, then the print box comes up. I have tried every saved version, saved in other locations, of the item not printed, and cannot keep Ps from crashing.

SAME exact issue 6/14/2022. Was working earlier today and then suddenly stopped and nothing I have tried from all these postings has helped. Of course in the middle of a time crunch. Going to see if my Affinity will work but I really need to get Photoshop working!!!
