I am using PS 2021 and it does not seem to like many key commands I use unless I click mouse somewhere in a pallet to "clear", "deselect". Example: I launched PS, command O, for new file. Used NIK to do some contract changes and when I go to flatten the two layers, PS will give a warning bleep, "can't do it" until I click off the NIK layer either in the pallet or in the image area. I don't think it is exclusive to layers made out of NIK. Even opening PS and keying command N for new file has made the same bleeps and I have to click on the PS window and repeat key commands to open a new file. Command S is another one. Any thoughts?

Hi Nancy
I had a look at those... it's not that the keys don't work, it's that I have to click elesewhere first to sort of clear the system before it will take hold.

That sounds like a focus problem. Is Photoshop maximized and docked to the application frame?
