photoshop 2024 25.12.0 uses the selection layer problem

As shown in the GIF below, every time I click to select the layer selection box, PS automatically enters the zoom state, and then zooms and adjusts as my cursor moves. I want to turn off this function. My habit is to click the layer box once, and then click again to zoom and adjust. I remember the previous version was like this

Thanks for adding the GIF. I believe it is a non-issue. However, the descriptions may not make the issue clear. 

Please update Photoshop to the latest version via the Creative Cloud desktop app. Also, please test and confirm if the issue exists with Photoshop (Beta). You can get Photoshop (beta) from the Creative Cloud > Apps tab > Beta Apps section.

After I select the layer with the mouse, I click the upper right corner of the layer to zoom in and out. When you use a digital pen to select a layer, it will zoom in and out as the cursor moves. When you use a mouse to select a layer, it will not zoom in and out as the cursor moves. Instead, you need to select it again to zoom in and out.

This is what I found: To change your Wacom pen from its default "pen" mode (absolute positioning) to "mouse" mode (relative positioning), you'll need to go into your Wacom Tablet Properties settings. You can usually find this by searching for "Wacom Tablet Properties" in your Windows search bar or through your system's Control Panel/Settings. Once in the Wacom settings, look for a tab or section labeled "Mapping," "Pen," or "Tracking." Within that section, you should find an option to switch between "Pen Mode" (Absolute) and "Mouse Mode" (Relative). Selecting "Mouse Mode" will make your pen behave like a traditional mouse, where the cursor moves relative to where you started dragging, rather than mapping the entire tablet surface to your screen.

@Trom37607937rj3b have you tried 'resetting' Adobe Preferences? I know it sounds crazy, but sometimes preferences do get corrupted over time!? I always resetting my preferencs with a new batch of students, so, I don't see the many glitches thta I come across these forums only because, I am always resetting them for the new batch of students! 

If you have a set of settings that you want, make a copy or mov the preferences to your hard drive or desktop. Restart Photoshop of course, but I would also restart the computer as well. When you restart the computer, t will create a new batch of preferences as well!

This is a bug in photoshop 2020-2024, you haven't solved it yet. I installed version 2025.26.07, and this problem is solved. Also, is there a way to increase the speed of canvas zooming in and out? I feel that only since the version 2019, the canvas zooming frame rate feels very low
