Photoshop 2024. Mac and Mac Server.
I drag and drop photos from the Mac server into InDesign, I then right click to edit the photo with Photoshop 2024. The photo opens and is processed with an action and saved as a .tif, back on the server in the same folder location. I then go back to InDesign to relink to the processed Potoshop photo. Click on the file and the timer spins for about a minute (see screenshot), and then the server crashes. If I go to relink again, it will works as expected, find the file and relink in a couple of seconds. Then the problem will happen again with the next image that is processed.
This use to work fine with earlier photoshop programs.
The only way around is to copy the photos folder on the server to my desktop and process them there. Copying them back when the newspaper has gone to print. This is not an ideal way to work and there is often late content supplied to the server from journalists.
