Just installed Photoshop 2024 in my new MacBook Air running Ventura 13.5. Although a couple of the palettes show, the Layers group and many others do not show even when checked in the Window list. This makes Photoshop unusable. I rebooted, no change. What to do?

Do you have (or have had) a second monitor and have you looked there?

Also try: Window menu > Workspace > Default followed by Window > Workspace > Reset Default. Does the Layers panel show up now? If not, show a screenshot of your Application window.

This is a brand new MacBook Air, no second monitor. I migrated from
another Mac, but it did not ever have a second monitor, either. I tried
Window menu > workspace > default & reset default, to no avail (It
called it Essentials (default) and reset essentials, if that matters).
So here is a screenshot. Thanks for any help!

Have you already tried with preference reset https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html? I will recommend manual method because you can drag preferences back if method does not work. In any case save any unsaved actions and presets if you decide to try with preference reset.
