I recently purchased the latest version of photoshop 2025. When I begin using it my normal letter and number buttons on my keyboard switches to symbols. When I quit out of Photoshop my keyboard still doesn't work properly

Suspicious individual that I am, if you really did purchase Ps 2025 (which is not possible under the current Adobe marketing), you may have picked up a virus. What version of Ps did you buy?
Your keyboard works now? Or are you posting from another device?
What is your computer? What version of MacOS?

Hey! @Mosdry,
You do have an active subscription, so that’s not the issue. What you're describing isn't something Photoshop would typically cause.
What kind of keyboard are you using, and how is it set up? This may be a system-level issue — you might want to check with Apple Support as well.

A good call Glen, but I am not sure if ligatures would cause symbols to appear when letter characters are typed.
@Mosdry Do you have any language packs installed? What langauge do you have set, and what keyboard?
We have seen a few posts recentl;y where language packs were causing display problems

When things get weird, go basic. This sounds like a Apple hardware thing and not Adobe apps.
Keyboard typing weird letters and symbols
Stuck Option key.
Example --
I typed:
1234567890abcdefgh
with option key depressed (simulate stuck key)

TRY THIS: PRESS YOUR CLEAR BUTTON
It's above the number 7 on the far right.
IF YOU DON'T HAVE A NUMERIC KEYPAD ON THE FAR RIGHT:
FN+F14 (EFF FOURTEEN)
If that isn't it I'm willing to bet it's an odd key got pressed- like the clear button- that might get you pointed in the right direction.
