Luminar Neo and Aurora HDR 2019, properly installed, are not showing up in Filter of photoshop, unable to use them as plugin. Logo's of both are present in the plugin file.

What can I do to be able to use them as a plugin in Photoshop ?

Regarding Luminar Neo, the Skylum Help page says there are two ways to install the plugins --

which did you choose, jan?

  • Choose Luminar Neo >Install Plugins
  • from the opening dialog in LN

Also, that webpage warns that Ps should not be running when you install the plugin.

Regarding Aurora HDR, I thought it odd that you were apparently installing a 6-year-old package. Help is hard to find on the Skylum website, but the first thing I saw was the proper name of their app: Aurora HDR 19 (version 19?).

Thanks for replying

To install the plugins, I already used both ways , without success.

PS was closed

Are these Intel or Apple Silicon plugins?

Can we assume your system meets minimum requirements?
https://support.skylum.com/about-luminar-neo/system-requirements

The Luminar Neo free trial says the app runs on Windows, Macs with Intel and M1.

iMac M4, bought a few weeks ago, meets the minimum requirements; luminar neo and Aurora HDR are running stand alone but not as a plugin in photoshop. Is photoshop the cause of the problem ?

HI @jan_0004, Thank you for reaching out!

I agree with ExUSA's suggestion that running Photoshop in Rosetta might be the answer. Aurora HDR 2019 isn't showing up, as it's an Intel-based application, while your M4 iMac uses Apple Silicon. To use Intel-based plugins, you'll need to force Photoshop to run through Rosetta.

  • Quit Photoshop: Please make sure that Photoshop is not running.
  • Locate Photoshop in Finder: Open Finder, go to your "Applications" folder, and find the Adobe Photoshop 2024 folder.
  • Get Info: Right-click on the "Adobe Photoshop 2024" application file (not the folder) and select "Get Info."
  • Enable Rosetta: In the "Get Info" window, under the "General" section, check the box that says "Open using Rosetta."
  • Relaunch Photoshop: The next time you open Photoshop, it will run under Rosetta.

For Luminar Neo: Adding to what LAMY2017 has suggested, you can also try turning off the GPU in PS

  • Open Photoshop.
  • Go to Preferences: In the menu bar, navigate to "Photoshop" > "Settings" > "Performance."
  • Disable Graphics Processor: Uncheck the "Use Graphics Processor" option.
  • Restart Photoshop: Quit and relaunch Photoshop to see if Luminar Neo now appears in the "Filter" > "Skylum Software" menu.

Let us know how it goes!
Cheers!

Noel

Hi

I tried the different solutions that were proposed above.

Unfortunately the 2 plugins doe not show up in Filter of Photoshop 26.7.0. I use them stand-alone.

Thanks for the suggested solutions.

You may need to run with Rosetta to use an Intel plugin.
