Photoshop 23.3.2 MacOSX Monterey 12.3.1 does not seem to remember the previously chosen file format WebP with File > Save, goes back to suggesting PSD with every new file to be saved? Is this just me?

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out. As PSD is the default format, that's the reason it moves back to the same settings first.

Did you change any export settings? What was your workflow earlier? Would you mind sharing it with us?
Once you are done editing your document, open Save a Copy and select WebP from the options provided in the file format drop-down menu to save your WebP file. WebP is also available under Save As when there is no risk of file overwrite or data loss.

Also, check out this article to learn about Save for WebP in Photoshop: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/support-webp-image-format.html#:~:text=Once%20you%20are%20done%....

Let us know if this helps.

Thanks.
