Photoshop 23 crashes with smart layers

Hi guys,

I started working with smart layers recently. My workflow goes as follow: I open the smart layers from my main file, work on them and save them. When I toggle back to my main file Photoshop crashes. 

It has crashed multiple times, losing me a lot of work.

Any one has had this issue?

Photoshop 24.7 - MacOS Monterey, M1 Max, Memory 64gb

Thank you for your help on this.

Unfortunately, it does not solve the crashes. I've turned off GPU and it seems to lower the amount of crashes.

If GPU were the culprits what is there to do?
