today photoshop 24 showed up on my computer. ugh. i used to have the previous version set as my default to open images. p24 doesn't show up as option. very frustrating!!! please advise

@defaultiau5oey07iwk currently version 25 is the most recent version, if that's the version you meant try uninstalling it and reinstalling from the Creative Cloud app

Your file associations were broken, most likely in the uninstall of the old version. It happens. I'd recommend unchecking "remove old versions". It's better to manage versions manually, and always install/uninstall in strict version order. Last in, first out.
Reset file associations in Windows Settings > Apps > Default apps. If that doesn't work, uninstall and reinstall as Ged suggests.
