Photoshop acting weird

For the last couple weeks my Photoshop has been acting weird. I'm currently on PS v23.3. I open PS and open a file I've previously worked on. It looks fine and acts ok until I try to resize a layer. As soon as I click on the corner handle the background of my workspace changes from grey to the main PS menu screen with a smaller square in the middle showing my layers. When I continue to try to resize the layer by dragging it in (making it smaller) PS kind of freezes. The only thing I can do at this point is close PS (if it lets me) or open the task manager and force it to close.

I've tried clearing my cache, up-ing the scratch disk use, down grading to an earlier version, updating my video driver, and disabling my second screen.

Go to Preferences > Technology Previews... and check "Disable Native Canvas" - then restart Photoshop. Does the problem still occur?

I ended up reverting all the way back to PS 2021. No problems now. I didn't think it was my system as it's never had an issue before but maybe it is.

We believe that underlying issue of the Photoshop home screen appearing where the document canvas should be (temporarily worked around by selecting the ‘Deactivate native canvas button’ in Technology Preview) has been fixed, and you may now de-select that button for future Photoshop sessions. Please let us know if any of these issues return once the native canvas has been re-activated.
