Photoshop & Indesign: 100% zoom is too large on screen

Hello,

Only with Photoshop & Indesign, 100% zoom is too large on screen. I need to zoom to 80% to get the real display. Why?

However, I don't have this problem with Illustrator.

@elfieheyllo InDesign has a view setting called "Actual Size" that should replicate a 1:1 physical size. Photoshop depends on pixel dimensions 100% is showing 1px actual size. What you want to use in Photoshop is "Print Size" found under the View menu.

To be clear: In Photoshop, 100% has nothing to do with size, screen or otherwise. It means one image pixel is represented by exactly one physical screen pixel.

Print Size vs. Actual Size can be cofusing. They are the same, but get their screen resolution info from different sources. Print Size gets it from the number you enter in Units and Rulers. Actual Size gets it from the operating system.

If the two numbers are identical (and correct!), the two will also display the image at identical sizes on screen. Turn on the rulers and hold a physical ruler up on screen. They should match (and do here).

In InDesign 100% = Actual Size.
