Photoshop Beta Appears To Have Mangled My System

I downloaded and installed the Photoshop Beta two days ago, to have a look at the Firefly generative fill.

 

Then - in my regular Photoshop 2023, (with the Beta switched off), this now happens:

 

Open a psd file and any other single layer file like a jpg or png in Photoshop 2023

 

View the psd file.

 

Click the other tab to view the jpg.

 

Go back to the psd file.

 

The contents of the jpg now appear on top of the psd file. As a ghost layer. It completely obliterates the psd image but is not there as a layer. Remember, no inputs were carried out. No copy/paste, it was literally going from one tab to another.

 

So, take the move tool and see if it moves. No. The entire image becomes garbled and mashed up.
