Hey guys,

I got a somehow special problem which still is very annoying. I am using Photoshop CC 2018

The problem appears when I want to make a single point, or draw inside of a very small area. In fact, when I touch the tablet with my pen nothing happens until I move the brush outside of a small area around the point where I clicked OR when I release the click.
Same issue with the mouse.

This do not sound so bad but when I draw little details its very annoying to only see the result after releasing the click or moving outside of that small range.

Normally it would immediately start to bring color on the canvas when I touch the tablet with the pen. even if I dont move it at all and even if I dont release the click.

By the way. The issue appears also when I want to change the brush size.

I looked around google with so many different search words but I didn't found any help. I am getting a bit worried Hopefully you can help me.

Thanks

KInd regards

Fabrice

I'm sorry, but you have written a lot but not given us any concrete info like what tablet, what computer, what settings. nobody can tell you what options to tweak without knowing these things.

macpawel OMG!! I first thought that this would not solve the issue but it did!!! OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH! You made my day. It is still strange because in CC 2017 I dont have this issue even with Airbrush turned off. Very strange.

Well I am still supplied so I say a big thank you again. 😃

Dear Mylenium

the problem only consists in the latest Photoshop version (CC 2018). In CC 2017 everything works just fine so it is not a problem of the tablet or the computer. I haven't changed any settings in cc 2018 so far. I dont think its a problem with any drivers or setting. More likely it is a problem of the new version ... Since I have problems with any new version of photoshop...

There is a comparable issue where you cant use the right click+ alt key to change brush size. The solution is to create a txt file with two lines of code in it ... Honestly it is a shame that a high quality program like Photoshop still (and always) got issues like this when it comes to a new version. The target group of digital painters is not small.

Don't think that I hate Photoshop. It's my tool of trade. I use it every day since years now.. And if you use a software for so long it's clear that you discover a lot of it's issues and inconsistencies. I still love Photoshop ...

And the problem still persists today. Hahaha. The only way is to use the airbrush... Shame on Adobe. Every update comes with more problems to digital painters.

I know it's not the same - but you can try Airbrush - maybe it helps?

That doesn't resolve the problem at hand I think. We're in 2023 now and the problem still stands... Is there any way to draw a dot or a small area without moving the pend and without using the airbrush ? (sorry but using the airbrush is just a workaround).

Hello, what worked for me was switching my graphics processor to my gpu instead of my cpu, dont know if this'd work for all but its likely a processing issue.
