I downloaded the new version this morning and do not see the oil paint filter in my filters.  I restarted my computer, I also downloaded the newest version of my graphics software, but no luck.  Any suggestions?  thank you.

Hi

Yeah this is actually a OpenCL requirement of Oil Paint.

IT requires OpenCL 1.2

If your graphic card supports that OpenCL, it should work.

Made sure I'm in 8 bit also, restarted, etc.

Try this

Open Photoshop.

Go to Edit -> Preferences  -> Performance (Windows)

Under Graphic Processor Settings

Click Advanced and uncheck OpenCL

Click Ok

Restart photoshop and then try.

That was unchecked already.  By the way, since we're in that area, can you tell me which of the advanced features under the Graphics Processor Settings should typically be checked?  thank you.

I just checked Open CL and the oil paint filter still works.  I am using GE Force GT630, version 359.00 with regard to my other question.  Thank you.

I also tried the Open CL idea, no luck, it is still grayed out. FYI I also just installed the update on my MacBook Pro and the new Oil Paint Filter it works fine there under Yosemite.

Does this mean if your graphics card is not able to support Open CL then no matter what the oil filter won't work..My card is about 6yrs old and a Nividia GeForce 3...can't remember rest of the numbers but it is not a GeForce 640...I can't afford a new graphics card so is there any other way to have oil filter?
