Photoshop CC 2017 crash when try to print

Since the last update to CC 2017 Photoshop crashes when I try to print.

The picture hasn't any layer - it's a normal TIFF.

In the system events I found this (sorry in German):

Do you have Win 10 or 7 installed on your computer?

If using Win7 ensure you have Windows Service pack 1 installed on your computer.http://windows.microsoft.com/en-IN/windows7/install-windows-7-service-pack-1

I'm running Windows 10.

The Microsoft C++ redistributable libraries are more up to date, then from the link, which you have placed.

Current installed:

Yes, Printer Drivers are also up to date. It just crash after I use File > Print. No change to choose a printer.

The crash module Libcef.dll is causing the crash and it has been identified.Will update you with next steps to be taken.

Could you please create a new Test Admin user account and see if the issue is reproducible there ?

I have created a second Admin user. With them it doesn't crash. The printing dialog is starting.

I've use Ccleaner to clean the registry. But without success with the first (standard) user account.

I had this problem with both CC 2017 and CC 2015.5 and the answer for me was to remove the Photoshop preference files and allow PS to recreate them. Resetting Photoshop preferences – Alien Skin Software Support

Thank you - the first way, with Control + Alt + Shift doesn't work.

But the second way, deleting this two files from User/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CC 2017/Adobe Photoshop CC 2017 Settings solved the error.

I had the same problem, the solution worked fine for me, thanks!

Only thing is, you have to press Ctrl+Shift+Alt directly after opening PS. I did like this:

- select the desktop icon,

- put three fingers on Ctrl+Shift+Alt (put don't press yet)

- press enter

- press Ctrl+Shift+Alt

I had to be really fast after pressing enter - otherwise PS would just start up normally.

None of this is helping. time for Adobe to fix crash.

Other programs are not crashing when printing.

This is Adobe problem, not driver and not windows.

Exact same problem here.
- Win 10 up to date

- Photoshop CC 2017 up to date

- Printer drivers up to date (problem happens with whatever printer is selected).

- Microsoft Visual C++ up to date
I already tried to reset the PS preferences with no effect. I even re-installed Photoshop, with no effect.

At each crash, in the Windows error logs, i see 2 lines :

- Crashing App Photoshop.exe, error linked to ntdll.dll

- And 10 seconds later, Crashing App : Adobe Spaces Helper.exe, error linked to libcef.dll

Errors happen always with the same files, PSD or JPG, but not with all files.

When a file crashes, it always crashes (even if i flatten it); when a file is "printable"; it stays printable.
When a PSD crashes, the same flatenned PSD will crash too.
Also, it does not seem to be relied to the PSD's complexity.

=> The problem seems to be file-related in a way i didn't manage to understand.

In my case, my Photoshop is a new install on a new computer. PSD and JPG files were made on an former PC.

Former computer runned with the same Photoshop version, same Windows version, ans same printer with no issues.

My coworker had a similar issue with his computer. I uninstalled Photoshop CC 2017 and selected the option to clear all user preferences, then reinstalled the Program. I also checked for the latest display drivers for the Quadro M4000 video card. After both installations and a reboot, the ctrl+p or "Print" function no longer crashes the program.

I might found the solution, this issue was occurring to me from last few days, the cause was the "Print Spooler" service which was not running, since i rarely use printer so i disabled my print service so i can save some RAM and pc startup time. you must try to see if the service is running or not, by just, go to start and search for Services and open it, then inside the service window find "Print Spooler" service and see status next to it, if the status shows Disabled double click on the service and set "startup type" to Automatic and click start to allow service to run and click Ok, restart Photoshop CC and check for print by pressing Ctrl + P, it should work.

How come this hasn't been fixed? It's ridiculous that the only way to fix the issue is to recreate your preferences file when the issue occurs. The only program out of the hundreds I have used over the years that can't reliably handle a simple print function, is Photoshop. This has been a "feature" of the program for at least half a decade.

It's a shame.... Adobe seem to be only interessted in to get money.... I read so often about this problem and it seems that the reason is, that Adobe developers using in Photoshop a special library for printing. Why they don't do i the same way as in Lightroom or Photoshop Elements? You can only shake with the head....

I have Window 7 with Service Pack 1 updated, but still have my Photoshop CC 2018 V19.1.3 crashing when trying to PRINT.

Any solutions please?

I found sometimes when this happens its due to something in the actual PSD, rather than preferences. In this case, a workaround is copying the whole page and pasting it into a new document from which to print. I"ve got it down to to 7 seconds..

Thank you INVERS3D. That did the trick. Copy and paste into a new file, save, and all works.  I saved to a new filename rather than overwriting the problem file. After 3 hours of trying everything else offered as the solution, uninstall and reinstall, deleting files, etc., this is all it takes. A SaveAs on the .psd file did not work. Opening a new file and pasting the contents of the problem file works fine.
