Photoshop crash because of Iceland image

New Here ,
Mar 16, 2024 Mar 16, 2024

Photoshop is constantly crashing upon opening, because of that stupid Iceland photo. You can't even change preferences because it crashes instantly because that image causes the crash. WHY does Adobe MAKE us see that damn image!?!?!?!
I've isolated the issue to versions 25.4 or 25.5. The only way I've been able to get photoshop to open is to revert back to 25.3. There is definitely a bug in these last two updates and it needs to be fixed. This is ridiculous!!!

Please read this (in particular the section titled "Supply pertinent information for more timely and effective answers”) and post a meaningful description of the problem. I don’t know what »Iceland image« you are talking about for example.

What have you done for all-purpose trouble-shooting so far?
Restoring Preferences after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved might be a good starting point:

If you are referring to an image that had been backed up before a crash you can manually remove it from the AutoRecover-folder.

Edit: On Mac that would be ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop 2024/AutoRecover, you

Yep, like the other responder says, what are you talking about?

Can you show us this Iceland image?

What is the context?

I use Photoshop daily and I can't see an Iceland image. Can you post a screenshot to demonstrate the issue.

Dave

Good catch, @Ged_Traynor !

@cameramom60 , please add your vote to the bug report if it describes the same issue that plagues you.

Thanks Ged. Yes, of course I have seen those threads, and AFAIK no one has worked out why some people are seeing this.

I didn’t identify it as the »Iceland image«, but I guess it could well have been taken there.

It's a pain in the backside for me Trevor, not sure why it only started happening after updating to version 25.6, never had the issue myself prior to that update.
