@viz.mike not seeing the issue on my system with Photoshop version 26.6 on Windows 11, have you tried manually resetting your Photoshop preferences

Remember to back up your settings before doing the preference reset

Hey, @viz.mike . Welcome to the Photoshop Community.  Thanks for adding the video. Please share the system info from Photoshop Help > System info > Copy and paste into a text document > Upload and attach here.

Has this started to happen since the recent update? Please test and confirm if the issue exists with Photoshop (Beta). You can get Photoshop (beta) from the Creative Cloud > Apps tab > Beta Apps section.

Before anything else, please try these steps:
Go to the location of the preference folder below and rename it to backup.

  • Windows 10/11: Users/[user name]/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop [version]/Adobe Photoshop [version] Settings
  • You can press Press the Windows key > Enter 'Run' > Enter %APPDATA%\Adobe
  • Rename the Adobe Photoshop folder by adding a .old at the end. (Adobe Photoshop 2025 > Rename > Adobe Photoshop 2025. old), You can restore these preferences later if you need to.(https://adobe.ly/4860qM9)
  • Restart the computer.

These changes will give a fresh start to Photoshop as a fresh install.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks!

Sameer K

Heey @Sameer K , thank you so much for this photoshop refresh tip! Didn't know I can do that!

All working now! I'll attach the system info txt file just in case if you want to investigate further why that was happening. I'm interested to know 😄

@Sameer K

I was loading preferences now and it seems there's something in my old preferences that is making an error, as the same error occurs again.

Although I can't figure out what's that, that is causing the issue
