Hello,
I'm a bit desperate, so I hope someone can help me. I have a VERY SERIOUS problem with Photoshop that is preventing me from working and meeting deadlines with my clients.
I've been working perfectly fine with Creative Cloud and the entire Adobe suite for a year, but for the past week, without making any changes, Photoshop crashes when launching.
MacBook PRO
Apple M1 Pro Chip
16GB RAM
macOS Ventura 13.5.2
Photoshop version 25.0 (Apple Silicon/Intel)
I've tried everything to fix it:
Nothing has worked. I've spoken with two technicians over the Adobe phone, and they couldn't help me either.
I can open and work with all the other Adobe programs without any problems. The only way I can open Photoshop is by holding down the Shift key when launching it, and then I can work without issues but without being able to use all the retouching filters and extensions I need for my daily work.
My question is simple:
Am I the only person on the entire planet experiencing this issue?
I'm getting desperate because I'm paying for a license and not receiving the technical support that I, as an Adobe customer, deserve. I don't know what else to do!
Any help would be greatly appreciated on my part.
I'm reading you.
Thank you,
Mista
If photoshop runs okay after holding down the Shift key to skip loading of Optional and third party plugins then you need to find which plugin or plugins is causing the issue.
https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/plug-ins-photoshop-troubleshooting.html
Third party and optional adobe plugins are in one of two places
Applications/Adobe Photoshop 2024/Plug-ins
and
Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-Ins/CC
In addition check the plugins that are listed under the Plugins menu and

In addition check the plugins that are listed under the Plugins menu and can be managed
through the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop App, from Stock & Marketplace > Manage Plugins
If the same plugins work in photoshop 2023 (ps ver 24.7.1) then you could use that version till you figure out the issue with photoshop 2024 (ps ver 25.0)

Jeff !!!!!!!
WOW!
You've really saved my life!
It's been a hellish week trying to find the problem.
As you said the issue was in the CC plugins folder.
Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-Ins/CC
I've deleted all the plugins, and Photoshop opens perfectly now. You have no idea how grateful I am for your help.
A million thanks!
Big hug from Spain

I'm experiencing the same frustrating issue.. doing the same thing you @MISTA STUDIO did (uninstall, cleaning, reinstalling older versions..), and NO, the @Jeff Arola solution didn't work on my side. Stuck on Halide Bottlenecks and does not open on Ventura 13.6.4.

As you restart Photoshop, press and hold Alt+Control+Shift (Windows) or Option+Command+Shift (Mac OS).
if that fails, use the cc desktop app to uninstall, including preferenes per https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html
