New Here ,
Mar 08, 2024 Mar 08, 2024

WHAT TO DO? I was wowking on my design for the past three days. After any big adjustment I saved my design just in case. Before turning off my computer I also saved the design. But when I restarted my computer the design was gone from photoshop app, and the computer disk.

@Mykololuka Photoshop does not just delete files. Where was the file stored previously? Local HD, external drive, cloud storage?

"the design was gone from photoshop app"

This is normal if you shut down your computer. As mentioned above, Photoshop will never delete a saved file. However, sometimes an error may occur when saving, and the files may get corrupted. But it is not programmed to delete files on the file system. Check again, maybe you forgot the save destination?

In 16-17 years of using Photoshop professionally, 8 hours a day, and an accumulated PSD archive of many tens of terabytes, I have never, ever, lost a file. Not one.

What I have done, is fall asleep at the wheel and save files to unintended locations. Then it may take a bit of backtracking to find it. What was the last folder I worked in? That's where it will be.

One more thing: Photoshop's home screen and the "recent files" list is not a file browser. "Recent files" is a convenience feature to let you quickly pick up where you left off before lunch, that's all it should be used for.

@D Fosse I use this for searching for misplaced files, it's so much faster than the Windows search function
