Photoshop Does Not Open Files

I have the latest version of photoshop. The same problem occured before and after update and before and afterr computer restart. Opening the program works just fine, but whenever I go to open a file it will look on the edges as if it worked, showing the picture name and the mini thumbnail in the layers section, but the whole center of the screen shows no change.

This happened when I first bought a subscription as well but fixed itself after a few hours with no known cause. Well it's been longer than a few hours by a long shot now and the best that's happened is a picture loaded with the base screen still as the background, and no changes could be made to the picture other than unlocking the layer.

Go to Preferences > Technology Previews... and check "Disable Native Canvas" - then restart Photoshop. Does the problem still occur?

We believe that underlying issue of the Photoshop home screen appearing where the document canvas should be (temporarily worked around by selecting the ‘Deactivate native canvas button’ in Technology Preview) has been fixed, and you may now de-select that button for future Photoshop sessions. Please let us know if any of these issues return once the native canvas has been re-activated.
