Hello, i just bought new laptop Apple M3 Pro 36 Gb. First few days photoshop was working perfectly after that it started fail for no reason. Just in the middle of editing it closes, doesnt show any error or something. First it was 12 per day, now it progresses. As long as i use it as often it fails. So now it is almost at every picture I am editing. I already tried other cersion of Photoshop, nothign works. I also gave the photoshop permission to the disk, but nothing changed. Does anybody has the same issue?

Hey, @Anastasia3827328770yj. Welcome to the Photoshop Community. I'll need more info to help you figure this out.

Please share the system information from Photoshop Help > System info > Copy and paste into a text document > Upload and attach here. I couldn't find crash reports submitted with the account you've signed in to the community with. If you see a crash dialogue, submit it with your Adobe ID. Check here for more steps: https://adobe.ly/3Wpjx0B

Go to the location of the preference folder mentioned below and rename it to back up. (https://adobe.ly/3u7u84j)

macOS: Hold down the Option key in the Finder when using the Go menu. The library will appear below the current user's home directory.

Library > Preferences > Adobe Photoshop [version] Settings

Rename the Adobe Photoshop folder by adding a .old at the end. (Adobe Photoshop 2025 > Rename > Adobe Photoshop 2025.old)

This will give a fresh start to Photoshop as a new installation.

Let me know if it helps. Thanks!
Sameer K

Hello,

thank you for your response. I today reinstalled the oldest available version. Almost the whole day it was working fine and in the evening again crashed. I can copy the info you asked for, only the issues I have Russian version of Photoshop and it doesn't permit me to change the language (there is only Russian in the settings), i guess i should reinstall it in English or is it okay to send it as it is now?

I am not sure if it the same account i am using with my subscription, but I sent some reports yesterday by clicking the button "report", but described it once as it happened really 30-40 times yesterday. I will try also the way you send below, maybe it will work

@Sameer K  one more question. I just try the way you wrote in the first message about renaming the folder. So I found the folder Adobe 2025 Settings. Should I change the name of this folder? Or it should be a folder inside this folder with settings? Because you didn't write word "setting" above, so I am not sure. Because I don't have anything of this kind inside the folder, send you screenshot below.

Thank you for your response and help.

Hello @Sameer K ,

i probably found potencial problem, but don't know how to solve it.

As i metioned above i have new laptop 512 Gb, i even didnt move information from the last laptop, so it is almost empty. But today when i opened the working disk in photoshop settings it was showing 10Gb available. In the apple storage seemed everything fine, just 96Gb used, but in the settings of the disk it showed that (370Gb can be removed) and it is used aroun 470Gb of the memory which was more or less similar to the photosho data of the disk, where it was only 10Gb left. So i decided to reset my laptop in case, there is something what eats the memory of the laptop, the problem was solved till the moment i downloaded photoshop and started to aork. When i opened it, it was showing 420 Gb available. I edited 5 pictures, by the disk settings it was showing that it takes some space, but it was increasing quite fast with my every step in photoshop. When i finished, i reset the computer and Photoshop, and it was already in the settings of the disk 13Gb of data possible to remove and in photoshop working disk was already shown 400Gb. How it can be possible? Should i remove something in the folders? I cant find anything what takes this space, even in appale storage it is not visible

Thank you

Thanks for sharing the details.

@Anastasia3827328770yj

This behavior is expected, and the space required for Photoshop and its operations is referred to as the Scratch Disk. This is better explained here: https://adobe.ly/3YUBns0

Let me know if this helps. Thanks!

LATEST

@Sameer K  thank you, i found it in the folder "cashes", is it possible to stop saving so much staff or to switch it off? During 1 hour it was around 35Gb of data saved here. On my previos laptop there was no such a problem, in case it wasn't working i just restarted laptop and the space returned, but in this case it is not working
