Photoshop freezes when opening new file

I booted up Photoshop 2023 today, which has been working just fine for me, and whenever I tried to open a file Photoshop would freeze. I force quit it multiple times, then decided to uninstall and reinstall. It reinstalled 2024 for me...still having the same issue. I deleted the preferences. I restarted my computer. I'm not sure what else I can do. 

Working on a Mac, running Sonoma 14. Still a beginner Photoshop user.

Would appreciate any help, I have a project due tomorrow 😩

Hi @orianat13063313 without opening a file - go to Photoshop Help Menu/System Info - copy and paste the details here.

In the meantime - try following this page to properly reset preferences. See if it makes any difference:
