My photoshop will randomly freeze after either using the lasso tool or moving the screen through holding spacebar, forcing me to force close the app through task manager. When i hover over different parts of the UI the cursor will still change, I just can't do anything. Is there any solution to this?
I am on Photoshop 2024 version 25.9.1 and on Windows 10. Below is a video of this bug happening

How much RAM and spare hard-disk capacity do you have?

I have 16 GB of RAM and currently 7 GB of storage remaining in my SSD card.

If you mean you only have 7GB of spare disk space on your hard drive, that is woefully insufficient to for processing activity.

Let us know how you get on.
It might also be worth resetting your Photoshop Preferences back to the factory defaults, which you can do under the General tab in Photoshop Settings.

Hey Derek, so i've changed the location of photoshop to a SSD card with 150GB of spare space and i've tried resetting my preferences as well as removing "flick panning" yet it still freezes. I've narrowed the problem down to when I move the canvas through holding spacebar while on the move tool. It freezes right after letting go, both on my drawing tablet and mouse. Do you know about any bugs with this?

When you say hard disk do you mean my C drive with windows on it? Because I only have two SSD drives and one M.2 drive

Hey, @Lucas359470939fys. Thanks for sharing the details. I'll need more info to help you figure this out.
@Lucas359470939fysPlease share the system info from Photoshop Help > System info > Copy and paste into a text document > Upload and attach here.
You mentioned using a drawing tablet. What specific device and model are you working with? Have you tried reinstalling the tablet's drivers?
Does this happen with a specific range of documents? As @Derek Cross suggested, you must create additional free space on the C drive. You're using an External SSD that you must move to the top in Photoshop > Edit > Perfrerences > Scratch Disk & use the little arrows to move the additional drive to the top.
@Derek Cross
Let me know if this helps.
Thanks!

Thanks for sharing the details & confirming that the third-party program might be the cause.
Also, your AMD GPU drivers are 14 months old. Try updating the drivers to the latest or most recent recommended version.
This may help with how your device communicates with the external tablet.
Thanks!
