Photoshop Freezing

On the latest version of Photoshop (using Catalina on Mac), the entire app keeps freezing with no specific formula to get to the freeze. Sometimes it's when I immediately open the app and select File > New, sometimes it's well into a project and I'm selecting layers or using the pen tool.

Is anyone else having this freezing issue still?

Try resetting your Preferences.

Hold Shift+Ctrl+Opt+Cmd down when you launch and hold until it asks if you want to reset.

If you see the splash screen with no message, you weren't fast enough try again.

Using 2019 Macbook Pro, updated to Big Sur to see if that helps (it did not), 2TB of HD space, AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 4 GB, and I can't look up scratch disk space without PS freezing before I get there.
