Photoshop not launching in Windows 10

Photoshop won't open, I can click the icon or right click a photo and select open with and nothing. There is not error message or anything its like I never clicked the button. I then open task manager and it says its running, sometimes its listed multiple times, so I end those tasks and try again and nothing. I even opened task manager clicked file and start new task and photoshop and it is the same as when I click the icon nothing opens and no error message but task manager says its running. It is a windows 10 system and I had a probelm similar to this before in that it would open and close photoshop immediately because the anti-virus flagged it as suspicious becuase it would try to connect to the internet immediately everytime it started for some reason and I put in an exception in the anti-virus to stop that.

Hi there,

Sorry to hear that Photoshop is not opening. We're here to help.

Which version of Photoshop have you installed (Help > About Photoshop)? Does the Splash screen show even for a moment? Or does absolutely nothing happen? Did you try re-installing the application?

Does your laptop freeze when trying to run Photoshop? Can you still run other applications? Are your graphic drivers up to date?

Check this page and see if you are getting a crash report. If yes, paste it here.

Submit a crash report for Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom

You can try to reset the preferences of Photoshop using the steps mentioned here: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html#reset_preferences

Please backup your settings prior to resetting the preferences.

You can check: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html#BackupPhotoshoppreferences

.

Let us know how it goes.

Regards,

Ranjisha

When I click the icon or right click a photo and select open with photoshop or as an answer to another post suggested open it through the task manager, nothing happens. Clicking the photoshop icon is like clicking a dead icon, where the icon is still there but you deleted the program. I even went through my computer program files to see if photoshop was still installed and it says photoshop 2021. I read throught other posts that seemed similar, restart your computer, reinstall photoshop, check for updates, I tried your advice and nothing works. The posts that seem to have situations that most closely resembles mine are actually for mac computers, so I don't read any further because I have a Windows 10 system on a HP computer, but the posts about windows 10 commputers having problems with photoshop not starting up include error messages and I get no error messages. It is like photoshop got deleted from my computer except the files are still there and after clicking on the icon to launch it task manager says photoshop is running but it is not.

I did read the other posts, did you? The answers I saw in the other posts were open task manager and close the photoshop task because it is running in the background or open using task manager, or open from photo file or the icon which ever you didn't try. There are a lot of posts that syas they recieve an error message when they try to open photoshop I do not, or that it starts opening and then doesn't when I try to open it there is nothing it is like I clicked a blank area of the desktop background, absolutely nothing happens. The rest of the posts seems to be about mac computers and I have a windows. I outlined all these points in my intial post, so if you can find a post that matches my situation, Windows 10 system and does not launch at all no error message nothing, that has more solutions than restart your computer which there was a time that would work now most IT professionals advise against that becuase if you have a virus that is causing the problem restarting your computer can make it harder to remove the virus, but I tried that, or the advice of "update photoshop" well photoshop exists seperate from the Windows opperating system and so does not update throught the windows update screen in settings you have to open photoshop to update photoshop so if I cannot open photoshop I can not update photoshop. The closest post I can find to my situation was solved by unistalling Avria anti-virus and I don't have that program and I am not uninstalling the anti-virus when I have had this anti-virus for years and have used photoshop before. If you can find a post that fits my situation: Windows 10 and photosphop won't open at all no error messge no starts to open just absolutely nothing that recomends something other than what I already tried and outlined in my intial post send me a link to it and I'll read it, because so far ever post I've read for the most part doesn't fit what is happening to me but I still tried what they suggested as I said in my intial post and didn't work.

Hi. No, I did not read those posts but sometimes I have found the solution to my issues in solved posts. Sorry, I understand the frustration when the applications don't work. Anyway, if you followed the suggestions given by @Ranjisha Sengupta and it didn't work maybe you need a clean reinstall of Photoshop using this utility: https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html

If that does not solve your issue, you could try a full clean reinstall of your computer.

By the way: you can update Photoshop without opening it because you do it using the Creative Cloud desktop application.

Where is your Photoshop icom located? If you have icon at Desktop then use right click > Properties > Shortcut tab to ensure that shortcut is pointing at right destination.
