Photoshop not responding if Lightroom Classic is running

New Here ,
Apr 28, 2025 Apr 28, 2025

After Photoshop was updated to v 26.6.0 a couple of days ago, it will not run if Lightroom Classic (Release 14.3) is running at the same time. It will start, but take a long time doing so, and the Windows Resource Monitor indicates that it is not responding. If I close Lightroom, then Photoshop will start working. If I start Photoshop by itself, it works fine until I start Lightroom, then it becomes unresponsive. I have tried uninstalling both applications, then re-installing them several times, but nothing changes. I have tried disabling GPU acceleration in both programs, but the problem still persists. I am on a Windows 11 PC with 64GB RAM. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

I can't replicate that here, both are running happily together.

Have you tried preference resets? Preferences contain more than just your user preferences, they also contain internal settings which are saved each time an app is closed. Importantly, they are not necessarily reset on a reinstall.

Thank you very much, Dave. Resetting the preferences in Lightroom seems to have fixed the problem.
