Photoshop Script to see if a .txt file exists?

Hello all,

I am trying to create a script that looks in a specific directory to see if a file exists or not, and return a boolean value either way. I have found some threads that mention a getFile() function but I have not been able to make that work for me in PS. 

Any and all help is appreciated!
