Photoshop zooming to selected areas. How to stop that!

Currently  and for some time a selection will auto zoom in and I want that to stop. 30 Yeras of PS experience and an instructor. I cannot make this stop.

if I use Lasso tool to select an area the screen the changes zooming in on the area. It is massively confusing to a very

long time user. How can I get the view to just stay unchanged for me to edit the selection
