Hello, I downloaded Photoshop yesterday, and every time I try to mask and select my whole pc crashes ( except when I try to edit a really small files).

I already did all the steps adobe suggested and nothing works, also my hardware is fine.

What have you done for all-purpose trouble-shooting so far? 

What are the Performance and Scratch Disk Preferences settings?
