Hello!

I have an issue with the Hand Tool/Zoom Tool on Photoshop. Whenever I use either of them, it seems to get stuck after I've already released the click button on my mouse. So I basically select the tool (by pressing the Spacebar for the Hand Tool or by selecting Zoom with the Z button) and when I click and drag, after releasing the click buttong, it will still zoom in/out or scroll across the canvas. Then I'll have to click again in order to release it.

This doesn't seem to happen with my Huion Kamvas, but only with mouses. I have both a wireless Logitech and a wired Redragon and both appear to have the same issue.

I tried resetting my Preferences, and it didn't work. I also had to format my PC entirely, so I reinstalled every Adobe app and the problem was still there, so I don't think reinstalling is an option either.

I'm on Windows 10 Pro btw.

I'll attach a video file.

Yeah, I just noticed it actually happens everytime I have to hold the click button. For example, if I'm going to select a text and I click and drag, it gets stuck as well. Doesn't happen with the Brush/Eraser tool, though.

Hi @Vitor Shayeb  curious if you have tried any steps here, especially 2 or 3?

Hi, Cory!

Thanks for the fast response. I have tried all of those options, but it didn't solve the problem 😞

Thank you for the update, a couple more things:

Go to Preferences > Technology Previews... and enable “Older GPU mode (pre 2016)” - Restart Photoshop. Does the problem persist?

Go to Preferences > Technology Previews... and check "Disable Native Canvas" - then restart Photoshop. Does the problem still occur?

@CShubert Thank you again for the response!

Ok, so now, out of nowhere, the problem seems to have stopped. I opened photoshop to try these steps you suggested, but everything was working fine. I restarted it a couple of times to see if the problem would appear, but it didn't. I'll just assume that it will happen again, eventually. If it does, I'll remember those steps you mentioned and try them. In case it doesn't solve the problem, I'll just open another thread mentioning that it didn't help 😞

Thank you again for the support!

PS. I don't know what I did differently. I simply took a lunch break and closed Photoshop. When I came back, the problem wasn't there.

Ah we see, the ol' out to lunch solves all issues... love it when that happens.

Good luck and let us know if it returns.
