Photshop can't save current open file, make a copy and saves it???

Ok so I've been having problems with photshop where, I open a new file, I save the file and then start working on my designs, time passes I click save to save my progress, but instead of saving the changes it opens up the window to save the file as a new file.

I realize that photoshop never actually saved the current file I had open, it made a copy version of it and it saved it but the current open was left unsaved, so If I wanted to save my progress I would have to save it again, make sure this one is actually saved, if not, close it go to my finder open the correct file, and delete the first saved file that has nothing on it.

It's so annoying, I don't know if this has something to do with the settings or a glitch??

Anyone knows what is going on????

Hi @angelica22537740wodu go to preferences/File Handling and check "Use Legacy Save As" to restore previous behaviors.

The new behavior forces you to save a copy when saving a flattened or destructive version of a layered file.
