problem Adobe Photoshop 2023 and mac M1 Max?

Hello everyone

I am writing to you because I need help.

I am a user of Creativ Caloud and I use two computers for my work (Mac OS - one with M1 Max, the other with intel processor).

I also installed Adobe Photoshop 2023 on both computers a few hours ago.

On the Mac M1 Max, immediately after installing Adobe photoshop, a problem appeared: constantly and from the beginning this "notification" appears

"Unable to initialize backing library: lib:PlugPlugExternalObject".

It also didn't copy all the plug-ins.

I must point out that this problem only appeared on the M1 Max computer.

On another computer (intel processor) Adobe photoshop works fine, everything works and also all plug-ins were downloaded without problems.

I had this problem on my M1 Max computer for the first time..until now everything was working fine.

I am kindly asking for your advice and help on how to solve this problem

it is worth considering that this might be a problem of a technical nature
of the combination of the mac M1 and photoshop, since I had no problems
until this upgrade. Just a thought. Thank you. Joe

I am also having multiple problems with both Bridge and Photoshop 2023 on a new Mac running Ventura 13.0.  The photo downloader doesn't work properly; when i open the Camera Raw dialog box and then try to open a photo in Photoshop, the image opens very overexposed, even though I made no changes to it.  Also, the opened image flickers and doesn't fully display.

Bridge 2023 is a mess and there are some known issues with Ventura. You may need to revert to Bridge 2022 (take a peek in the Bridge forum for lots and lots of bug reports.)

Camera RAW uses presets, check your ACR settings to see what is being auto-applied to your RAW images.

Try removing Photoshop with the CC App and reinstalling it from scratch.

Perhaps try resetting Photoshop preferences?

Resetting restores Photoshop's internal preferences, which are saved when Photoshop closes. 

If they become corrupt then various issues can occur.

Note re macOS: The user Library folder is hidden by default.

Unexpected behavior may indicate damaged preferences. Restoring preferences to their default settings is a good idea when trying to troubleshoot unexpected behaviors in Photoshop. check out the video

You may want to backup your settings and custom presets, brushes & actions before restoring Photoshop's preferences.

Before you reset your preferences

in case of future issues, I suggest you make a copy as Adobe may need one to check problematic references. 

Quit Photoshop.
Go to Photoshop's Preferences folder

  Note for those on macOS: - be aware that the user Library folder is hidden by default on macOS.

  In the Finder, open the “Go” menu whilst holding down the Option (Alt) key. 

  Library will now appear in the list - below the current user's “home” directory. ]

Now you can drag the entire Adobe Photoshop [Version] Settings folder to the desktop or somewhere safe as a back-up of your settings.

Note for those on macOS:

Preference preservation is affected by macOS permissions, 

you’ll need to allow Photoshop ‘Full Disk Access’ in your Mac OS Preferences/Security and Privacy

It may even be time to reinstall Photoshop. 

It’s recommended that you use the Adobe CC cleaner tool to remove all traces first. 

(See above about preserving preferences though! Its worth preserving them unless they are corrupted.)

Uninstall Photoshop BUT make sure to choose the option “Yes, remove app preference”.

Once that process finishes, start the installation process and look into the “Advanced Options”. Uncheck “Import previous settings and preferences” and choose to “Remove old versions”.
