Can you copy the files to your local hard-drive and open from there?

Can you place the TIFF files in Photoshop using Place Embedded or Place Linked?

Can you place or open the TIFF files in Illustrator, InDesign or other non-Adobe apps?

Also, what size is the file on the drive? Is it about what you'd expect?

Does it have a thumbnail in Bridge?

There's a possible fix in this thread using Bridge

General advice, won't save you now, but will save you in the future: never save directly to external storage. The risk of file corruption is very high.

Save to local drive, then copy over.
