The last few days, Ps crashes after I've launched it. Not really sure what the cause is. My last update was 19 days ago. Is there any known cause of this?

Hello. I almost forgot about this post. The crashing after loading has not reoccurred, so I haven't really tried anything. I'll leave it here. Thanks anyway - great to know there's some help around if things go wrong. Thanks everyone!!

What have you done for all-purpose trouble-shooting so far?
Restoring Preferences after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved might be a good starting point:

Thanks man, it's been okay for the past while. Can loading a file cause these problems?

What kind of file?

Unexpected Photoshop behaviour (including Photoshop crashing) might be caused by essentially random corruption of Preferences files and then resetting them may be annoying but necessary.

If the issue went away »on its own« in this case good for you.
