PS crashes when using select subject

Installed new BIG SUR on my Mac now the quick selection select subject tool keeps crashing PS! help

Which mac, an M1? can you share the contents of help>system info...

Also reset your preferences: reset Photoshop's preferences by holding down Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Pc) Cmd+Opt+Shift (Mac) as you click on Photoshop's icon to start it up.

If you do have access to the menu Edit>Preferences (Pc) or Photoshop>Preferences (Mac), it is possible to reset them from the General submenu.

Hmm, not seeing anything for Photoshop v22.5.0 from the @gmail.com address you've used to log in here. Are you using a different email address? A different version of Photoshop?

It may help if we could see your Photoshop System Info. Launch Photoshop, and select Help >System Info...and copy/paste the text in a reply.
