All versions after 25.0 have this issue. I run version 25.0 but every time a new update comes out I try it and within hours I get this strange issue. If I go back to version 25.0 I don't have it. I've attached a video to show what i mean but here is what i've tried and what happens:
What happens:
I will be working on a document and it does not matter if it's complicated or new, and all of a sudden the program becomes unclickable like it's the parent window when a child window is shown. But there is no dial box visible stopping me from clicking anything within photoshop. The strange thing is and you cans ee this in the video is when my mouse hovers over as menu item it highlights as though i can click on it. If my mouse hovers over the document the transform lines appear like i can move it and even in the layers section you can see the active layer being selected but i can't click on anything. As though it's frozen but the task manager shows nothing unresponsive and no resources being used. It's like a dialog box is hiding someplace but there isn't. This happens with all the versions so far but for 25.0 the first release of the 25 major version. So i've been using that version without issue. In fact it seems to be the most stable version i've ever had the pleasure of using as of late. But the second i install a newer version i will get this strange "frozen" like issue 3 to 4 times a day.
There are two methods to get out of it but usually just ends up throwing up the crash dialog box but it's empty and sends nothing making me have to terminate it. The first way that has some success is me terminating the "windows explorer process" and restarting it. Once the task bar for windows closes and loads up again, Photoshop kicks into gear and i'm usually able to click on File and save and then restart it. However, this only works sometimes as all other times the crash dialog box appears.
The other way is in task manager by selecting the photoshop process under details and clicking Analyze wait chain. This also results in an immediate crash but sometimes works.
What i've tried:
1. I reset my preferences
2. I've DDU my GPU drivers and installed the latest
3. I've turned off my GPU accelerator in PS and back on again
4. I've re-installed PS
5. I've completely uninstalled Adobe CC using the cleaner
6. I've used a different user
7. i've replaced my mouse (i use a trackball logitech MX with shortcuts) with a normal wired one
8. i have two monitors and switched to one
9. I've removed any anti-virus and or remote desktop software
10. i've made sure no apps were running in the background like my Logitech Options+ or Everything or ASUS or blackmagic processes etc.
The only thing that has worked is me removing the current PS version and running version 25.0 in hopes the next version fixes this. The problem is, its hard to even explain or search on So i finally gave in and made this post showing a video of what happens when it occurs and you can see me trying to click and the menu's highlighting but i can't click on anything and when it does crash it shows an empty dialog box sending nothing to adobe when i push send crash report.
